جامعة السويس تحقق قفزة نوعية في تصنيف “التأثير” الدولي لمؤسسة THE

أعلن أ.د. أشــــــــــرف حنيجــــــــــل رئيـــــس جامعـــــة السويـــــس أن الجامعة حققت إنجازًا كبيرًا في التصنيف الدولي Impact Rankings الصادر عن مؤسسة Times Higher Education (THE)، حيث تقدمت هذا العام إلى الفئة 401–600 عالميًا بعد أن كانت في الفئة 1001–1500 في العام الماضي، وهو ما يمثل نقلة نوعية تعكس الجهود الكبيرة المبذولة في مختلف القطاعات الأكاديمية والبحثية.

وأوضح رئيس الجامعة إلى أن ترتيب جامعة السويس بين الجامعات المصرية هذا العام جاء في المستوى الرابع، لتحتل الجامعة ترتيب بين الجامعات المصرية من ٨ الى ١٣ مقارنة بالعام السابق حيث شغلت مكانا في المستوى السادس، وهو ما يعكس حجم الجهد المبذول والنجاح في تحسين الأداء على المستويين المحلي والدولي، ويؤكد أن الجامعة تسير بخطى ثابتة نحو التميز الأكاديمي والبحثي.

وقد أشار “حنيجــــــــــل” الى أن هذا التصنيف يعتمد على قياس أداء الجامعات في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة التي وضعتها الأمم المتحدة، من خلال معايير تشمل جودة البحث العلمي ومدى ارتباطه بالقضايا العالمية، والتأثير المجتمعي للجامعة في خدمة المجتمع المحلي والإقليمي، والتعاون الدولي مع المؤسسات الأكاديمية والبحثية، إضافة إلى الالتزام بممارسات الاستدامة البيئية والاجتماعية.

كما أكد “حنيجــــــــــل” أن هذا التقدم الكبير يعكس نجاح جامعة السويس في تعزيز دورها كبيت خبرة علمي وبحثي يخدم المجتمع ويواكب التحديات العالمية، ويؤكد مكانتها المتنامية بين الجامعات الرائدة في المنطقة والعالم.

وبهذه المناسبـــــة فقد وجه أ.د. رئيس الجامعة خالص الشكر والتقدير إلى أ.د. شريف فهمى، القائم بأعمال نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون الدراسات العليا والبحوث، وإلى أ.د. عادل محمد عامر، مدير وحدة التصنيف الدولي، والسادة أعضاء الوحدة، تقديرًا لما بذلوه من جهد كبير ومتميز في تجميع وتوثيق البيانات الخاصة بأهداف التنمية المستدامة (SDGs)، وما قاموا به من عمل دقيق ومضنٍ في رصد وتحليل هذه البيانات وفق المعايير الدولية المعتمدة، الأمر الذي كان له الأثر المباشر في تحقيق هذا الإنجاز المتميز وارتقاء الجامعة في التصنيفات الدولية.

كما ثمّن سيادته جهود أعضاء هيئة التدريس والعاملين بالجامعة الذين أسهموا بجدية وإخلاص في رفع مكانة الجامعة على المستوى الدولي. وأكد أن هذا الإنجاز لا يمثل مجرد أرقام في التصنيف، بل هو شهادة عالمية على أن جامعة السويس تسير بخطى ثابتة نحو التميز الأكاديمي والبحثي، بما ينعكس إيجابًا على سمعة مصر العلمية والبحثية.

Suez University Achieves a Major Leap in THE Impact Rankings

Professor Dr. Ashraf Hanigel, President of Suez University, announced that the university has achieved a significant accomplishment in the international Impact Rankings issued by Times Higher Education (THE). This year, the university advanced to the 401–600 global tier, after being ranked in the 1001–1500 tier last year. This remarkable progress represents a qualitative leap that reflects the extensive efforts made across the academic and research sectors.

The University President explained that Suez University’s position among Egyptian universities this year has risen to the fourth level, placing the university between 8th and 13th nationally, compared to last year when it occupied the sixth level. This improvement highlights the scale of effort exerted and the success in enhancing performance both locally and internationally, confirming that the university is steadily moving towards academic and research excellence.

Hanigel pointed out that this ranking is based on measuring universities’ performance in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through criteria that include the quality of scientific research and its relevance to global issues, the university’s societal impact in serving local and regional communities, international collaboration with academic and research institutions, and commitment to sustainable environmental and social practices.

He further emphasized that this major advancement reflects the success of Suez University in strengthening its role as a scientific and research hub that serves society and keeps pace with global challenges, while consolidating its growing reputation among leading universities in the region and the world.

On this occasion, the University President extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Sherif Fahmy, Acting Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and to Professor Dr. Adel Mohamed Amer, Director of the International Ranking Unit, along with the unit’s members, in recognition of their outstanding efforts in compiling and documenting data related to the SDGs. Their meticulous and exhaustive work in monitoring and analyzing this data according to approved international standards had a direct impact on achieving this distinguished accomplishment and elevating the university’s standing in global rankings.

He also commended the efforts of the university’s faculty members and staff, who contributed with dedication and sincerity to raising the institution’s international profile. He stressed that this achievement is not merely a set of numbers in a ranking, but rather a global testimony that Suez University is advancing steadily towards academic and research excellence, with positive reflections on Egypt’s scientific and research reputation.
