أعلن أ.د. أشــــــــــرف حنيجــــــــــل رئيـــــس جامعـــــة السويـــــس، عن تجديد الثقة بالإجماع في رئاسة مصر ممثلة في جامعـــــة السويـــــس لمجلس إدارة مراكز التميز بالاتحاد الأفريقي لمدة عامين، وذلك خلال اجتماعات شبكة المراكز المنعقدة في العاصمة الكينية نيروبي. ويُعد هذا القرار إنجازاً قاريّاً ودولياً يعكس ثقل الدولة المصرية ومكانتها الريادية في القارة السمراء.
هذا وقد أكد أ.د رئيس الجامعة أن هذا النجاح يأتي ترجمة لتوجيهات فخامة السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي رئيس الجمهورية، الذي يولي اهتماماً بالغاً بالاقتصاد الأزرق والانفتاح على القارة السمراء لما تمثل من أهمية كبرى لمصر، كما يعكس الدعم المستمر من أ.د. عبدالعزيز قنصوة وزير التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، الذي يضع تصدير الخبرات المصرية وبناء القدرات المؤسسية للأشقاء الأفارقة في مقدمة أولويات الوزارة.
جدير بالذكر أن هذا الإنجاز لم يكن وليد اللحظة، بل هو امتداد لمشاركة أ.د. رئيس جامعة السويس الفاعلة في الدورة السابقة بمقر الاتحاد الأفريقي في أديس أبابا، حيث أسس لنهج مصري محترف في قيادة هذا الملف، وأسهم في صياغة استراتيجيات الحوكمة والاستدامة ودعم الحكومات الأفريقية في مواجهة تحديات التغيرات المناخية. لذا فإن تجديد الثقة بالإجماع اليوم هو تتويج لهذه الجهود المتواصلة.
وقد شارك أ.د. أسامة قدور مدير مركز التميز بالجامعة ورئيس مجلس إدارة المراكز، في اجتماعات نيروبي التي شهدت توسع الشبكة بانضمام ست دول جديدة، ليصبح إجمالي المراكز (14) تحت رئاسة جامعة السويس. كما أعلن “قدور” استعداد كلية الثروة السمكية لتكون المقر الرئيسي لمراكز التميز على مستوى القارة، واستيعاب الطلاب الأفارقة في برامجها الأكاديمية والمشروعات الدولية المشتركة.
ومن جانبه فقد أصدر رئيس الجامعة تكليفات فورية بدمج المراكز الجديدة وإطلاق برامج تدريبية متقدمة، كما وجّه دعوة رسمية لعقد المؤتمر الدولي الثاني للاقتصاد الأزرق هذا العام برحاب جامعة السويس، ليكون منصة للتعاون القاري والدولي.
هذا وقد وجّه أ.د. أسامة قدور، مدير مركز التميز بجامعة السويس ورئيس مجلس إدارة المراكز، كلمة شكر لرئيسة المفوضية الأفريقية د. هيام صالح وللحكومة الكينية على دعمهم الكبير لإنجاح الاجتماعات، مؤكداً أن هذا الإنجاز يعكس ثقة القارة في مصر وريادتها الأكاديمية. كما أكد سيادته على الدور المحوري أ.د. محمد الصباغ، عميد كلية الثروة السمكية، الذي يقود جهود الكلية لتكون المقر الإقليمي لمراكز التميز بما تمتلكه من إمكانيات علمية وبحثية قادرة على خدمة القارة الأفريقية بأكملها.

President of Suez University Announces the Unanimous Renewal of Confidence in Egypt’s Chairmanship of the Board of African Union Centers of Excellence

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, announced the unanimous renewal of confidence in Egypt, represented by Suez University, to continue chairing the Board of the African Union Centers of Excellence for another two years. The decision was made during the meetings of the network held in Nairobi, Kenya. This decision is considered both a continental and international achievement that reflects the significance of the Egyptian state and its leading position across the African continent.
The President of the University emphasized that this success comes as a translation of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, who places great importance on the blue economy and strengthening relations with the African continent due to its strategic importance to Egypt. It also reflects the continuous support of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who prioritizes the export of Egyptian expertise and the development of institutional capacities for African partners.
It is worth noting that this achievement did not emerge suddenly; rather, it is an extension of the active participation of the President of Suez University during the previous session held at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa. There, he established a professional Egyptian approach to leading this file and contributed to formulating strategies for governance and sustainability, as well as supporting African governments in confronting the challenges of climate change. Therefore, today’s unanimous renewal of confidence is regarded as the culmination of these ongoing efforts.
Prof. Dr. Osama Kaddour, Director of the Center of Excellence at the University and Chairman of the Board of the Centers, participated in the Nairobi meetings, which witnessed the expansion of the network through the accession of six new countries, bringing the total number of centers under the chairmanship of Suez University to fourteen. Dr. Kaddour also announced the readiness of the Faculty of Fish Resources to serve as the main headquarters for the Centers of Excellence across the continent and to host African students within its academic programs and joint international projects.
For his part, the President of the University issued immediate directives to integrate the new centers and launch advanced training programs. He also extended an official invitation to hold the Second International Conference on the Blue Economy this year at Suez University, aiming to establish it as a platform for continental and international cooperation.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Osama Kaddour, Director of the Center of Excellence at Suez University and Chairman of the Board of the Centers, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Hiyam Salih, Chairperson of the African Commission, and to the Kenyan government for their substantial support in ensuring the success of the meetings. He affirmed that this achievement reflects the continent’s confidence in Egypt and its academic leadership. He also highlighted the pivotal role of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Sabbagh, Dean of the Faculty of Fish Resources, who is leading the faculty’s efforts to become the regional headquarters of the Centers of Excellence through its distinguished scientific and research capabilities that can serve the entire African continent.
